Using the Factory Brake Controller in a 2015 GMC Sierra 3500HD with Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Question:
Im ordering a new 5th wheel RV that has electric over hydraulic disc brakes. My question is will the GM factory controller work with the electric over hydraulic brake system. The owners manual says will work with most systems?? Thanks for the info!

We may have a part you need but the factory brake controllers in GM vehicles from 2015 like your Sierra 3500 are not compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes as is. Depending on the model of brake actuator that's on the trailer you may be able to install an adapter. We carry parts # HBA-CAM which is for HydraStar actuators and # DX35FR which is for Titan BrakeRite and Dextar DX serires actuators.
If your fifth wheel has a different actuator on it then we don't have an adapter. In that case your best bet is to install an aftermarket brake controller that's compatible with EOH brakes, like the Prodigy P3, part # 90195, with the adapter # 3016.
