Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2007 Toyota Tundra 6-1/2 foot Bed

Question:

I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra with 6.5foot box. My owners manual says, current 5th wheel hitch designs are not compatible with short bed crew Max models. I do not know what a crew max model is and am unable to find anything on the internet. You are offering hitches for my truck so am I to assume hitches have changed since 2007 ? If you have a hitch available for my truck are underbed mounts available or above bed only ? Thank you,

I attached a picture that shows the difference between the cab styles of your 2007 Toyota Tundra. Basically the CrewMax is a wider set of rear doors.

So for a fifth wheel hitch setup that fits your 2007 Toyota Tundra 6-1/2 foot bed we have the Demco Hijacker Autoslide part # DM8550034 which would be your best option. This slider hitch automatically slides back as you make tight turns to allow you cab/trailer clearance. For a rail kit you'd then want the part # DM8552020-71 which is a confirmed custom fit for your truck. Custom fit rail kits are the way to go as they will minimize drilling and install time as compared to universal kits.
