Can a Thule Roof Rack Support a James Baroud Tent on a 2008 GMC Yukon XL

Hi there, would this be good for a James Baroud tent? Are there advantages to getting the 58 inch racks vs 50 inch? Thanks

Your 2008 GMC Yukon XL requires the 60 inch bars so you would use # TH711520 and then feet # TH710401.
The roof rack is rated for 165 pounds though so unless the combined weight of the tent you use and occupants is less than 165 pounds you would be over the capacity of this roof rack. If it is just the tent then it would be at the capacity but would not exceed it.
Yakima has a solution to the low weight capacities of roof racks and vehicles in the USA; take a look at the SkyRise # Y07421 for 2 people, or # Y07437 for 3 people. With these tents only part of the weight is on the roof rack and the rest is supported by the ladder. I have linked a video review for you.
