Equal-I-Zer or Curt Weight Distribution System Recommendation for 2014 Infiniti QX80

Question:

I am looking for a hitch for a 24 ft trailer 6,900 lbs GVWR, 550 lbs TW. Looking for a 10,000 GTW, 1,000 lb TW hitch. Tow vehicle is a 2014 Infiniti QX80. Two of the hitches I am considering are the Curt TruTrack WD w/sway control and the Equal-I-zer WD w/4 pt sway control. I read lots of comments about the Equal-I-zer hitch being noise, but otherwise a very good hitch. I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

All weight distribution systems are going to create quite a bit of noise unfortunately. The amount of tension in the setups and the fact there is a lot of metal to metal friction in all of them under all the tension will create quite a bit of noise.

The Equal-I-Zer systems like the part # EQ37100ET you referenced are somewhat noisy but you can quiet them down with the correct lube part # EQ91-00-4250 which helps to keep the noise down quite a bit. This kit would be the much better choice than the Curt you mentioned. Many refer to the Equal-I-Zer kits as being the nicest setups around so this would be the way to go.
