How to Lift Trailer Height to Provide Clearance at Bed Rails on 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 SLE
Question:
I would like to purchase a 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 SLE pickup truck to tow my new 2017 Eagle HT 24.5 CKTS. The issue is the GMC has a 56inch ground to top of box height at the cab, and a 58inch ground to top of box height at the tailgate. My Jayco dealer said the ground to nose dimension of the trailer when level is 60. Assuming a 2 inch truck squatinch when the trailer weight is loaded onto the truck hitch, are there trailer suspension adjustments that can be made to boost the trailer 2 to 3 inches to obtain the 6 inch minimum clearance between the truck to trailer? Thanks for the info!

There is a way to lift the overall height of your trailer to provide better clearance at the bed rails of a taller pickup like your 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 SLE.
The item is called an over-under kit and we have a kit for two axle diameters, 2-3/8-inch and 3-inch, parts # K71-384-00 and # K71-385-00, respectively. These bolt-on kits reverse the positions of the leaf spring stack and axle beam to lift the trailer up. Please see the photo showing an installed kit.
The height gain will be the sum of the axle diameter plus the height of the leaf spring stack. So for example, if the trailer has a 3-inch diameter axle and the spring stack is 2-inches tall then the overall height gain will be 5-inches.
