Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the CURT carbide black custom 5th wheel installation kit for Ford trucks. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2017 and newer Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 Super Duty trucks without the OEM prep package and excluding the cab and chassis models. And on a custom fit part like this, I like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for application.
Now, the custom brackets right over here, these will mount beneath your truck bed. They provide the attachment points for these 5th wheel base rails. And these base rails are what'll sit in your truck bed and allow installation of your 5th wheel trailer to your truck. These brackets over here, they are custom fit brackets. They're designed to mount to existing holes in your vehicle's frame.
This will minimize any drilling and your installation time is cut in half compared with universal bracket systems. This is a complete kit. It includes everything shown here on the table. It includes the mounting brackets, the base rails, all the mounting hardware you need for installation, a nice set of instructions that'll describe how it all goes together. And over here, we have the galvanic isolator kit and that includes this roll of tape and these squares.
And they're designed to install between the aluminum bed of your truck and these steel parts of this kit to prevent any galvanic corrosion between the two different materials. The rails right here, as we mentioned, these will be in the bed of the truck. They're visible. They have carbide matte black finish to them. And this is compatible with the B&W, the CURT, the Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, and even the Reese above-bed 5th wheel trailer hitches.

Installed per directions. Quality is great. No rust after a year. Still looks new. Definitely would purchase again. Thanks Etrailer.
Shipping could have taped or closed custom box better, also, plastic around the custom mounts could have prevented them from getting scratched up.
Had trouble received rails for an older model truck. They paid 1/2 of the return cost but it was still $xx. Not sure if it was my fault or they website. Either way etrailer was very friendly and helpful. I'd buy from them again.

I only received the top two rails! In a smashed up package! No bolts , no instructions just two top rails, unbelievable! And disgusting!

I installed this unit on a 2023 f250. Only modification was drilling the mounting holes to match the frame as they are different.

It sounds like it was a tough install. I wanted to ask you if you could explain in more detail which holes needed to be reamed out? Would you be able to send a picture.
