Mounting Hole Spacing of Bulldog A-Frame Coupler

Question:

I called yesterday regarding this product. Measurements are provided on the website for spacing between mounting holes center to center...but not for the distance from the top of the coupler to the center of each mounting hole. I have 1995 Featherlite 3 horse slant trailer that has the original bulldog coupler. I need to replace it...this coupler looks like a fit, but my measurements are: 1 1/2 inch from top and 2 inch from top with horizontal distance from hole to hole is 1 1/2...on another coupler, Demco 50-Degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler # DM13205-52, the website shows the mounting hole measurements... measurement in question is the 1 1/4inch upper holes...I believe mine are 1 1/2inch from the top. I would think the mounting of these would be standard, but I am not sure.

The Bulldog Heavy-Duty Cast Head Coupler # BD44150WH301 has the same standard mounting hole dimensions as the Demco DM13205-52 that are 1-1/4 inches from the top. You said you believe yours are 1-1/2 inches so if you are going to replace the coupler I recommend taking it off and double-checking; you may find that the holes are 1-1/4 inches. Otherwise there are weld-on options available that you may want to consider; I've added a link to our selection of A-Frame couplers that use a 2-5/16" hitch ball for you.
