The adapter you mentioned #BX88358 will work for you as we have checked with Blue Ox and this can fit tab widths of 3/4 inch wide, 7/8 inch wide, and 1 inch wide with 1 inch diameter pin holes. The distance between the arms is 1 inch.

We have a couple Blue Ox Tow bars that use a pintle ring, one for 10,000 lbs #BX7460P and one for 20,000 lbs #BX7520P but there is currently no way to convert your current bar. You would have to purchase another tow bar to achieve what you want.
