Weight Distribution Hitch for Lifted 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited

Question:

We are getting a 2018 Rockwood HW276 that has a base hitch weight of approx. 300lbs and a total dry weight of 3200ish lbs. I am replacing the stock Class II hitch with a Curt Class III hitch so I can us a WD hitch with the trailer and a Prodigy P3 controller. But my jeep has been lifted with a settled height increase of approximately 3inch and 33.5inch tires, for a total height increase of approximately 4 to 5inch overall. I am looking for a WD hitch but dont know if there is anything special that I have to consider with a lifted Jeep or if there is a specific WD hitch system I should be looking for due to the height increase. I want the tow bar as level as possible obviously and from reading here know that the overall tongue/weight capacity for the WD hitch should be close to what I will actually have. Any suggestions?

For your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited if you went with the Curt Hitch part # 13432 you'd be able to use a weight distribution system like you mentioned. Since you have a lifted vehicle though you'd need to go with a drop shank so that you trailer can be towed level. So you'd want to go with a system that does not have a shank and then use a drop shank like the part # C17124.

Then for a weight distribution system we have the part # RP66540 which would work well for you since it has a 200 to 600 tongue weight range.

For a 2-inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
