Best Weight Distribution System for C-Channel Trailer Frames

Question:

Does the A-frame on my dump trailer need to be constructed with rectangle tubing for it to work with Curt WD hitch #C17057? My trailer is constructed with a C-beam frame. Will the lift bracket and chain on the Curt WD work with my frame? Thank you

The Curt MV Weight Distribution System part # C17057 is not ideal for c-channel trailer frames. You could still use this system on your trailer but you would want to weld steel places on the frame rails where the frame brackets of the Curt MV sit.

A better option for you would be to use a system that clamps around both sides of the frame like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37140ET. The Equal-i-zer system works with trailers that have a total tongue weight (TTW) between 1,000 lbs - 1,400 lbs. It fits trailer frames up to 6" tall. The best feature of this system is its 4-point sway control which works to both prevent trailer sway before it occurs and reduce trailer sway as it is happening. The Curt MV only has 2-point sway control.

The Equal-i-zer system comes with everything you will need to hit the road with your trailer included both the hitch ball and shank. I have attached a review video of this system for you as well.
