Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch With Sway Control For C-Channel Trailer Frame

Question:

Hi. Ive got a PUP trailer with C-channel frame and approximately 300 lb tongue weight when loaded. I would like to score a WD hitch with sway control, but i would prefer to avoid bolt on plates. I would like to to find a hitch that I can continue to use in years to come when we decide to move up to a larger 3500lb travel trailer. Do you have a hitch system that will meet these specs?

Helpful Expert Reply:

Based on your tongue weight the only options for weight distribution with sway control will use the bolt on brackets. The Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 7-Hole Shank - 6K GTW, 600 lbs TW # BLU36FR would be a good option for your current tongue weight. In order to use this you can place a block of wood or something similar in the C-channel to clamp onto.

The other nice part about using this Blue Ox is that it will work for your future trailer. Once you know the tongue weight of the trailer you are getting you can replace the spring bars on the TrackPro with higher rated spring bars instead of replacing the entire system.

I have attached a review video for your reference.
