Will Exhaust Brake Activate Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
For the Prodigy P3 brake controller for my 2006 Dodge 2500 Diesel - I have an exhaust brake that I use on downhill sections - will the P3 engage the trailer brakes due to the slowing caused by the exhaust brake or does it have to have a signal from the brake pedal in the truck to engage?

Helpful Expert Reply:
If your exhaust brake lights up the brake lights of your truck then the P3 # 90195 will activate the trailer brakes at the same time.
It's my understanding that when you use an exhaust brake the brake lights don't light up in most situations so it wouldn't activate unless you also depressed the brake pedal enough to light up the brake lights.
