Hitch Extenders for Lincoln Navigator
Question:
Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2inch Trailer Hitches - 24inch to 34inch Long Item # C45048 I am looking at this hitch extension. We have a pontoon boat and I would like some extra hitch length to get my trailer deeper into the water when unloading and loading. At 3 feet would this be a good product to safely use with our boat? Is this hitch extension heavy enough to tow the 22 foot pontoon boat to the lake? Towing with a Lincoln Navigator

The hitch extension and reducer # C45048, is for 2 ½ inch trailer hitch receivers, If your Lincoln Navigator has a 2 ½ receiver opening it will fit but you should also know that it reduces the weight of your trailer hitch by 50 percent. With that being said, I believe that Navigators all came with a factory trailer hitch receiver with a 2 inch opening.
But, if was I was in your situation I would go with the Curt Class III Drawbar # C45270. By using a longer ball mount instead of an extension, the longer ball mount does not reduce the tongue weight at all. This drawbar is 13 inches from center of hitch pin hole to center of ball hole and fits a 2 inch receiver. Gross towing weight is up to 7,500 lbs and tongue weight is up to 750 lbs.
Please check your owner manual for your vehicle's towing specifications.
