As long as the weight capacity is inline with your trailer/axle rating and the measurements match your current springs, the number of leaves in a spring pack does not matter. The difference between a 3 and 4 leaf spring pack within the same weight capacity is simply an indication of the amount of leaves it takes for that particular set to reach its listed capacity. The difference between the two packs will not have an effect on wheel well clearance.

The more important factor to consider is the length of your existing leaf springs. In order to pick out the correct replacement, you will want to measure the springs from the center of one eye to the center of the other eye. You will then want to select a leaf spring stack that comes closest to that measurement, remembering to keep in mind that older, worn out springs will have stretched a bit over time (usually less than an inch).

For example, the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500 Pound Trailer Axles # e54SR features an eye to eye length of 25-1/8 inches.

I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of leaf springs for 3,500 pound axles, along with a great article on trailer suspension that you might find helpful.
