Recommended Weight Distribution System for 2017 GMC Yukon Denali and ATC Enclosed Car Trailer
Question:
Sir or Maam, I am interested in a weight distribution hitch for use with my 2017 Yukon Denali and 24foot ATC enclosed car trailer. Loaded trailer weight is roughly ~7800lbs. I have found many options on your site, however the trouble I am running into is ensuring that the hitch provides sufficient to tow the trailer level. I am currently using a 5 1/4inch , and the setup really needs to be another inch or so lower. The largest I have found in any of the W/D setups pictured here is 3. Could you suggest a product, or provide any insight into this issue? Thanks in advance

For your 2017 Yukon Denali and 24 foot ATC enclosed car trailer, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution w/ 4-Point Sway Control - No Shank - 14,000 lbs GTW, 1,400 lbs TW # EQ37141ET. This will come with the 2-5/16 inch hitch ball needed, but not the shank. The shank I recommend to go with this system is the Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank 7" - 10 Hole Adjustment # C17123 which will give you a 8-1/4 inch drop.
You will only need a thin walled socket like # ALL643216 as an additional tool for this trailer hitch ball installation.
You want to make sure that your loaded trailer tongue weight and any cargo behind the rear axle of your Yukon fall in the 1,000 to 1,400 lb total tongue weight range of this system and that your trailer hitch is able to handle that capacity when used with weight distribution.
