Parts Needed to Install 6-Way/4-Pole Socket and Prodigy 90195 Brake Controller in 2012 Ford Explorer

I need 6-way and 4-way wiring and a brake controller. My 2012 Explorer does not have a factory harness, can I use 40965? Is 90195 a good choice for a controller?

The Hopkins Replacement Multi-Tow 6-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connector # 40965 is meant as a replacement for a similar factory-installed trailer connector. Since your 2012 Explorer did not have the factory tow package installed your installation for a trailer brake controller like the excellent P3 # 90195 and a combination 6/4-pole connector like the Hopkins will be a little different.
The items you need are the controller itself # 90195, a basic 4-pole harness # 118540 and our 6-way controller install kit # ETBC6. This kit includes the 6-way/4-pole connector as well as all other parts needed to install the Prodigy and have a fully-functioning combination trailer socket.
