How Would EZ Connector Magnetic 7-Way Trailer Connectors with Built-in Seal # 319-R7-02 Install

Question:

I have a 1994 F150 XLT 2wd that has never had a trailer hitch or package on it. I found the hitch I want on your site and thought I would get all the wiring bits at once. I would like to put a 7pin with a 4 pin option receiver on the vehicle and have the ability for a trailer brake later on. I don't want to cut into the wires if it can be avoided. I would rather plug into the existing wire harness. Can you supply the correct part numbers for the wiring and receiver bits for this installation?

If your 1994 Ford F-150 has a 7-way installed on it already the EZ Connector Magnetic 7-Way Trailer Connectors with Built-in Seal # 319-R7-02 will easily plug in line with it once you remove the 7-way from your truck's wiring and then plug this in place.

Then on the trailer side you have to remove your current 7-way and then wire the trailer side connector in it's place.

We can definitely help you install a 7-way plus 4-way and brake controller but since your vehicle is not pre-wired for a 7-way there will be a bit of wiring needed. You'll need to start with a 4-way like part # 118316 which luckily does not require any hardwiring. It installs by plugging in line with your factory taillight connectors. Then to convert it to a 7-way and install a brake controller you have to use the # 37185. Plugging this in to the 4-way allows all of the signal lights to function like they should. Only the blue wire needs to be ran to the brake controller wiring that is present at the rear frame rail like in the picture I attached. This is basically all of the actual wiring you'd need to do. For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well. This will plug into the port under your dash with the install harness part # 3035-P.
