Recommended 7-Way and Brake Controller for 1997 Dodge Van 3500
Question:
I have a dodge b3500 ram van and need to wire a 7 way plug and brake controller. Do you have an adapter harness that works with factory plug? Or am I limited to doing it all by hand? 1997 it has an oval shaped connector under the passenger rear bumper that shows 12 volts for turn signals, etc. Thanks

We have exactly what you need to install a 7-Way connector and trailer brake controller on your 1997 Dodge Van.
You will first need to install a 4-Way connector with the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236. This harness is custom-fit for your vehicle but will need to be hard-wired. I have attached the written installation instructions that you can take a look at, as well.
With the 4-Way installed, you will then just need to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit includes everything needed to install a fully functional 7-Way connector from the exiting 4-Way. I have included a great article that details the installation steps for this kit.
Then for the trailer brake controller, I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is an excellent, proportional controller that will activate your trailer's brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your vehicle. It features an easy to read digital display along with continuous diagnostics that will alert you to any potential issues.
