Extending Curt Weight Distribution Hitch to Clear Electric Tongue Jack
Question:
I have a 28ft TT and tow with a 2017 Chev 2500HD, which has a 2.5 inch receiver hitch and am wondering if I can safely use a hitch extension so I can have the tailgate down when I haul my dog in the back of the truck while we travel. I need maybe 2 inches extra length to safety clear the electric tongue jack. It is so close to clearing, I just need a little more! Any help and advice would be appreciated.

So it looks like you are using a sleeve adapter to fit a weight distribution shank designed for a 2 inch hitch into a 2-1/2 inch hitch. Because of that your easiest solution would be to use a longer weight distribution shank.
I'd go with the Curt # C17122 which is 16 inches long and has a maximum rise of 10-1/2 inches or drop of 7 inches. It's also a Curt like what you have so it would work well.
