Dexter Hubs and Brake Assemblies for 7,000 lb Lippert Axles on 2017 Jayco Pinnacle
Question:
I have a 2017 Jayco Pinnacle 5th Wheel that has 7,000 lb axles with self-adjusting electrical brakes. Question #1: Can I install new Dexter backing plates w/brakes and still use my existing lippert hubs? Question #2: Can I install Dexter backing plates w/brakes, and Dexter hubs on my Lippert 7,000lb axles? I do not have any confidence in the Lippert brake assemblies. The braking is poor. I do not believe the magnets and shoes are good for a heavy trailer.

Dexter self adjusting brake assemblies can replace Lippert assemblies. For that you'd only need the # 23-464 for the left hand side and part # 23-465 for the right hand side.
Then for a Dexter hub that fits your axle we have the part # 42866UC3-EZ which is a 7k hub that fits your spindle.
