How hard is it to install the Curt 13013 on a 2002 Toyota Tacoma 4WD? Does the bumper have to be removed for the installation?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13013 that you referenced is a no-drill installation, but does require the temporary removal of bumper/fascia during installation. The manufacturer has rated this installation as a 7 out of 10 so it may take a bit longer than the estimated 1 hour and 10 minute installation time for someone who is foreign to working on vehicles.

I have attached an installation video of this trailer hitch on a 2003 Tacoma that you can use as a reference though.

To complete your towing setup you will also need a ball mount, hitch ball, and trailer wiring.

The Curt Class III Ball Mount # C45036 is a great option to use that has a 2" hitch ball and a shank with a 2" drop. You will want to check out the attached article on ball mounts to make sure this is the correct one for your towing application.

For wiring I recommend the Tekonsha T-One # 118379. This will simply plug into your tail light housing on either side and will provide you with a 4-Way flat connector for basic trailer lighting functions. You can use part # 18144 and part # 18140 for a way to easily secure the 4-Way to your trailer hitch.
