Troubleshooting Wiring on Ultra Fab Electric Trailer Jack
Question:
I have an Ultra Fab electric jack #3502-7 on my trailer. I was moving the trailer the other day, and the motor stopped working. The lights came on, so I had power. I was able to jack the trailer by using the bolt and ratchet at the top. Is there something I can check on the motor to see if it will work againg, or is it time to replace.

To test your jack, I recommend first checking your trailer battery for proper charge. The lights will require far less power than the motor, so lights may come on but you still may not have enough juice to power the motor.
If the battery is not an issue, I recommend running a jump wire to your motor from the positive terminal of a 12V battery. The motor will have two 12V wires because the polarity will determine extending or retracting. If the motor functions, then you know you have a wiring issue or a bad switch. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the wiring and switch and replace as needed.
If direct power to the motor does not work, then you know the motor has burned out and it will need to be replaced. Since you are able to manually adjust it, you know the threads on the jack and the gears are working properly.
For a replacement, I recommend the Phoenix Electric Trailer Jack - A-Frame - 22-1/2" Lift - 4,000 lbs # UF38-944040. I've attached videos of this jack for your review.
