About to purchase a BMW X5 and only really need a hitch for a bike rack no electronics needed at this time.

I recommend the Draw Tite Class III Max, part # 75600 for your 2017 BMW X5. The installation for the hitch is rather involved, so I'd recommend contacting local BMW certified body shops for assistance with installing the hitch.
