Is a Brake Controller Supposed to Always be Turned On

Is the brake controller suppose to stay on at all times or does it have to turn off!!

A lot of brake controllers have a sleep mode that it switches to typically after the vehicle is shut off.

On some brake controllers, like the Prodigy P3 # 90195, it will shut off automatically after 15 minutes of sensing no movement. If you were to check this specific brake controller after some movement on your truck, like getting in, then the brake controller would wake back up.

If you let me know what brake controller you have I can see if there are any specifications as to when it should fall asleep.
