Could Dexter Axle Replace 5 x 8 Utility Trailer

I have a older 5x8 utility trailer with a wooden floor.One side of the old axle is bent.it came with a 73 inch straight axle?is It OK to replace it with a dexter type axle?

Yes, that would be fine. We don't have any 73 inch axles though. Just a 72 inch like the part # 20545I-EZ-72-10 which has a distance of 58 inches between the spring seats.

If the spring seat dimension matches your trailer perfectly this would work great.

The Bearing Kit, L44649 Inner/Outer Bearings part #BK1-150 is designed for 2,200 lb axles with a 1.063" bearing diameter so if this is what you have then it will be a great fit.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
