I have. Honda 3000 EIU generator that weighs about 140 lbs. can this be used to load my generator in my pickup bed or would I need to modify the bottom frame and make it larger for more stability?

Using a lift is certainly the most convenient way to go, but is not absolutely necessary. When I installed the hitch on my van, I did not need to raise the vehicle at all. Having the vehicle on jack stands or ramps would make your installation easier…

The Lippert Components Baggage Door Turn Latch #LC213117 is a steel with a chrome finish, but it isn't stainless steel. The width of the cylinder is about 0.88". I confirmed all of this info with my contact at Lippert.

The length of the threaded portion of the cylinder is 1/2". However, when you put the rubber washer on the cylinder and the back nut on as little as possible, the remaining clearance is 1/4". I have attached two pictures showing this.
