For your 5th wheel rails, I recommend the Curt 25K Gooseneck Plate for Fifth Wheel Rails item # 16055. This will give you a 3 inch offset ball for better turning in your short bed truck. This will give you 4 safety chain locations and a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball.

You will have to go with a sliding hitch to allow the trailer to make tight turns. For a trailer 8 feet wide the only bed length that's going to allow 90 degree turns without a slider is a stationary hitch. That being said you have two options.…
