Installing a Trailer Brake Controller From Scratch on a 1970 GMC C30 Pickup
Question:
Im putting a CM brand flatbed on my 1970 GMC C30 pickup. The flatbed is wired for a 7 way connector, and I would like to add a trailer brake controller so I can use the pickup to pull my car trailer with electric brakes. What do I need for wiring so I can use a Tekonsha Prodigy P2 trailer brake controller?

If you do not already have a 4-Way flat connector at the rear of your 1970 GMC C30 then you will want to start off by installing the Tekonsha 4-Pole Hardware Kit # 18252. This will simply splice into your current light functions. I have attached a sample installation video for you to follow.
The next step is to install the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. This comes with everything that you will need to give yourself a fully functioning 7-Way. Attached is a video of this kit being installed along with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. You can use the exact same steps to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 as they are identical in their installation process.
I have also attached a few helpful articles that you can reference for the installation.
