Expert Reply:
For your 2017 Ford Edge I recommend installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75234. This trailer hitch installs so that the only visible part is the receiver itself. When we installed this hitch on a similar 2017 Edge we found that from the ground to the bottom of the safety chain loops is 8-1/2 inches. You can use that to gauge the ground clearance lost compared to your current ground clearance.
The trailer hitch itself weighs about 30 lbs and has a Max Tongue Weight (TW) rating of 675 lbs and a Max Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) rating of 4,500 lbs.
If you let me know what you will be using the hitch receiver for I can make some recommendations for you.
