How to Install the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter on a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban
Question:
HOW DO YOU DISCONNET THE ORIGINAL LINE AND INTALL THE ADAPTER?
asked by: JOE
Expert Reply:
The original transmission cooler line is held in by an E clip. Once you locate the E clip at the radiator housing you will need to push in on the transmission cooler return line, and use a awl or small screwdriver to pry the E clip off of the line. The transmission line will then come out of the radiator housing.
You will then install the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter, item # D13035, using the E clip to hold the fitting in place. If this fitting leaks, an O-Ring in the radiator at this location will need to be replaced, these are available at a local auto parts store.
Once the new fitting is in place you will install the cooler hose on the fitting, run it to the trans cooler, then run another length of hose from the other fitting on the cooler to the return line that was removed from the radiator earlier. Clamp all of the hose ends tight and top off the transmission fluid. Installation complete.
