Expert Reply:

In a situation where you are towing a heavy trailer and are at a downhill-facing stop light, for example, if you need to hold the trailer brakes engaged longer than the period the controller automatically does so, then you can simply press the manual override lever on the controller. This can be done whether you have a proportional (inertia-based) controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 or a time-delay type controller such as the Tekonsha PowerTrac # 39523.
