Question:
Interested in getting a hitch for kia sorrento 2017. Is there enough room to install the hitch without putting the car on a life or risers?

Starting with the trailer hitch itself, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Round Tube Receiver Hitch # 75908 for your 2017 Kia Sorento. This Class III hitch is confirmed to fit your vehicle and will use existing holes in the vehicle frame for a no-drill installation. I recommend this over the Curt alternative that is also confirmed to fit your vehicle, because unlike Curt, Draw-Tite does not require the use of additional stabilizer straps for non-trailer loads like bike racks and cargo carriers.
There may be enough clearance under the Sorento to install the hitch without lifting it, however I strongly recommend lifting the vehicle in some way during installation. This is going to make everything much easier, as there is not going to be much clearance for torquing down the hardware and putting the hitch into place. Also keep in mind that for your vehicle, some underbody panels/fascia will need to be temporarily loosened or removed. The exhaust will also need to be temporarily removed during installation.
I have attached an installation video on your 2017 Kia Sorento that you can use for reference and see exactly what all is needed for installation.
