I do have a way that will allow you to determine if the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs part # HSAB will work for you but I spoke to my contact at Brophy and they do not list a weight capacity for them. As long as you are within the payload rating of your 1990 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup, your external bed rail width does not exceed 5-1/2", and you have at least 2" of space beneath lip of your bed rail then they will work well for you.

According to "Consumer Guides", the payload capacity of your truck is as follows for the following cab and bed options:

Extended Cab/Long Bed - 5042 lbs.
Extended Cab/Short Bed - 3261 lbs.
Regular Cab/Long Bed - 5383 lbs.
Regular Cab/Short Bed - 2412 lbs.

If the width of your external bed rail is more than 5-1/2" or you do not have 2" of space beneath the lip of bed rail, you will want to use the Brophy Stake Pocket Mounted Camper Tie Downs part # TDSF. As long as your truck bed has stake pockets then these will also work well for you.

Regardless of whether you choose the bed or stake pocket mounted camper tie downs, you will need a set of turnbuckles to secure the truck bed camper to the truck bed like the Brophy Basic Turnbuckles w/ Hardware for Camper Tie-Downs part # TDHP. Turnbuckles do have a weight capacity rating and the weight capacity rating of these turnbuckles is 3,000 lbs. therefore, will work for you.

As you will be adding almost 3,000 lbs. to your truck bed, you will want to use a set of rear suspension enhancements to help reduce the strain the added weight will have on your truck's rear suspension and for this I recommend using a set of Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancements. I have attached a link to a list of all our Timbren springs confirmed to fit your truck. In order to find the correct kit for your truck you will need to select either the 1500, 2500, or 3500 option.

I have attached a review video on all of my recommendations for you.
