Troubleshooting Brake Controller for Connection and Function
Question:
I had a wire short out on my trailer and fried the trl.plug to the truck changed the plug but now I get no power to the controller .is there away to check the controller to tell if I fried it or not

There is a way to test your brake controller. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to make sure you are getting power to the unit itself. I've attached an article to assist with further testing to ensure your controller is working properly or confirm it is not.
It sounds like you may not have a circuit breaker on your wiring. If this is the case, I recommend using the 40 amp # 9510 for your 12V function and the 20 amp # 9506P for your brake controller. See attached article on # ETBC7 kit to assist.
