How To Remove the Air Line From the Air Lift Union T-Piece Part # AL21838

Question:

I am going to take my Air Lift 5000 AL57204 off / out of my current 2013 GMC Sierra 4X4 and reinstall them in a 2016 Chevrolet 1500 4X4. I am currently using one of these T- Unions . Is there a way to get the air lines out of the compression / slip on fittings and then be able to reuse them ?

Keeping the airbags at the 5 psi minimum while not in use will allow the bags to retain their shape properly and not end up folded over or in any other position that might cause a portion of the bag to wear out prematurely.

I am curious as to how you are measuring the amount of air in the airbags. I would also like to see a photo of the airbags installed and inflated to 5 psi while on your truck. If you can provide me with this information I may be able to provide further advice.

Yes, in order to remove the air line from Air Lift Union T-Piece part # AL21838 you will need to apply pressure evenly around the outer ring of the air fitting. Once you have the outer ring help down you should then be able to pull the airline out without damaging the fitting or the line. Be patient with this as it is not always going to work the first time around. The air line may require a bit of finessing to pull free. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57204 installed on your 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 will be a direct fit for your 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 and will not require any additional parts. However, I recommend running new air lines using the Replacement Air Line Kit for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000, LoadLifter part # AL20086. To operate the airbags from inside the vehicle I also recommend using the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System for Air Helper Springs part # AL25980.
