The online edition of the owner's manual for the 2017 Honda Odyssey lists towing capacities on page 401, and these naturally vary depending on the passenger and cargo weight load in the vehicle. The rating are based on the Odyssey having a supplemental transmission fluid cooler installed. The maximum tow rating of 3500-lbs presumes only 2 passengers are in the vehicle.

Even with 7 occupants the Odyssey still can tow 1450-lbs so given that most 8-foot tent trailers do not sleep too many people I think you will be fine towing an 1100-lb camper trailer with two passengers in the vehicle but you will want to check the camper's GVWR since that will tell you how heavy it can be when loaded. If its dry weight (empty weight) is 1100-lbs then it could have a GVWR of 1500- or 1600-lbs by the time you load it.. Do note that Honda cautions not to tow anything during the first 600-miles.

The best-performing transmission cooler for your Odyssey is the Class III plate-fin type cooler # D13503. This will mount in front of the AC condenser where it will receive maximum air flow. We installed this cooler in a 2013 Odyssey and you can see the whole process in the linked video. This cooler will substantially drop your transmission operating temperature which takes away much of the stress and wear on its internal components.
