Recommended 12V Trailer Connector Wiring For Constant Power On 2015 Ford F150
Question:
Ford knows they have a problem with the 7 pin trailer connector not supplying a constant 12v for interior trailer lights and other items. I bought this truck specifically for towing different trailers some of which have interior lights or the need to charge a battery in a camper. If you could help with a solution, you would have many F150 customers coming your way.

There is a very easy solution, but it means bypassing the Ford electronics. You can run a 10 gauge wire like # 10-1-1 directly from the battery, through a circuit breaker like the 40 amp In-Line Circuit Breaker - Perpendicular Mount Bracket # 9510, and directly into your 7-way trailer connector. This is the pin at the 1 o'clock position when looking directly at the connector from the front, so from the back of the connector it would be the 11 o'clock position.

I'm going to have to perform this same fix, can I tie into the existing batt. wire at the connector with the larger wire without any adverse effects on my truck electronics or trailer monitoring software?
