The 7-way type trailer wiring format does include enough circuits for all the trailer lights, 12V auxiliary power for a trailer-mounted battery and for trailer brakes. On a 7-way socket the trailer brake signal is carried on the contact at the 5-o-clock position. Please refer to the linked photo of a 7-way vehicle socket that shows you which signals are carried on each of the pins. I also included an article that explains all the types of trailer wiring in common use.
Having a 7-way on a vehicle does not necessary means that it is also equipped with a trailer brake controller. Some pickups can come from the factory with an OEM controller but most people prefer to use the better-performing aftermarket units that do more and that are usually a lot more reliable, one like the Prodigy P2 # 90885.
In a truck such as your 2015 Toyota 4Runner that already has a factory-installed 7-way trailer connector all you need to install the Prodigy is the plug-and-play wiring adapter part # 3041-P.
