Adapter to Tow a 5th Wheel Trailer with a Gooseneck Hitch that Doesn't Void Trailer's Warranty
Question:
We are purchasing a new 5th wheel RV it will have a Lippert chassis, can this adapter be used without voiding the warranty ?

Expert Reply:
The Convert-A-Ball Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216 does void the warranty of a Lippert trailer chassis. The added distance of the trailer's king pin to the hitch on the truck is greater because of the adapter which creates more stress on the frame.
Lippert does approve the use of a Goose Box adapter, however. I've linked the available selection. You'll need to choose the correct replacement based on your current pin box.
