Do Trailer Wheels have Pressure Rating for Load Range D Tire Size 205/75-15

Question:

I have a 2003 19 foot Dutchman Travel Trailer . It had 205 75 15 load range C tires on it. Im replacing them with load range D tires. Do I need to change wheels or will the stock wheels hod up to the increase in air pressure from C to D load range? If so do you have the wheels I need?

Expert Reply:

Typically with trailer wheels and tires it's not the actual wheel that has a psi limit that becomes an issue. Normally it's the valve stem installed in the wheel that is the issue (if any at all).

The part # TR20515D is a Load Range D ST205/75R15 tire that has a 65 psi max pressure that must be in the tire at all times. That shouldn't be an issue at all for what you have in the wheel currently as that's pretty low relative to some of the tire pressure ranges.
