Running Power Wire of Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness in 2017 Ford Escape
Question:
Ive recently purchased a Curt class 3 hitch and Tekonsha wiring harness for my 2017 Ford Escape. When I run my + wire to the battery, can I put a switch in the circut so I am not powering up the module when Im not using my trailer.Wich is most of the time?Or will the vehicle tail lights still work? What about running the power source from my fuse box which is keyed?Any info would be appreciated, thanks

When installing the wiring harness # C56320 in your 2017 Ford Escape the power wire should be ran directly to the battery. It's protected by the included fuse.
There's no need to install a switch because your Escape's tail lights will function normally with the harness installed. The power wire powers the harness to keep the trailer lights from drawing all their power directly from the tail lights. The 4-way will still receive power when not towing which is normal.
