Recommendation to Seal Hole Needed to Install etrailer Hitch e93KR on 2017 BMW X1

Question:

For the installation of the etrailer hitch on the 2017 BMW X1, you need to drill a hole in the under carriage to fit the carriage bolt assembly. I live in Minnesota so this leaves me concerned about corrosion. Is there a method to seal this hole from water entry during installation? Expanding foam sealant maybe?

We don't have an exact recommendation for your application but there are rush inhibiting primers and paints that would be what I would use if I were you when installing the etrailer hitch part # e93KR.
