Recommended 5th Wheel Rail Brackets And Hardware For 2016 Ram Crew Cab With 5.5 Foot Bed

I have a 2016 Dodge Ram crew cab with 55 bed and need to know if I can put a Reese 16k classic 5th wheel hitch in it? I have the hitch rails and possibly all the hardware. Is it all universal?

For your 2016 Ram Crew Cab With 5.5 foot bed, I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Bracket Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP50142 to go with your rails. You will also need the Replacement Hardware Kit for Fifth Wheel Base Rails - 10 Bolt # RP58430 because the hardware is only intended for one time use.
That will allow you to use your Reese 16K classic 5th wheel hitch. This 5.5 foot bed requires use of a Sidewinder Pin box or the OEM Revolution Pin Box both made by Reese. I've attached a link to all your options, but these are pin box specific, so you will need to know what pin box is currently on your trailer to replace it. Not using a Sidewinder or Revolution pin box will most likely result in damage to your truck and or trailer. These pin box replacements move the pivot point of your trailer back an use a rotating turret to allow you the clearance needed to safely tow your 5th wheel trailer.
