How to Match Replacement Hub to Ensure Compatibility

Question:

Hi, I have a boat trailer currently with double 3500lb axles - H-1000-04-A hubs on the rear. I was considering getting a spare hub kit and was wondering if your CE Smith 13511 hub kit was a direct fit/match to that hub? The inner and outer bearing numbers match but didnt know if there was other factors that had to be considered as well? I like the pregreased and comes in a case factors in comparison to a new H-1000-04-A hub kit. Thanks in advance.

Selecting a compatible hub requires matching a few factors, among these the bearings, which must match in order for the hub to fit on your spindles. You also need to match the wheel bolt pattern on the hub to that on your wheels and the weight rating of the hub to that of the axle. The linked page displays all hubs for 3500-lb axles.

CE Smith Trailer Hub Assembly # CE13511 includes an idler hub (not a brake drum type hub) with the popular 5-on-4-1/2 bolt pattern. This hub uses inner bearing # L68149 and outer bearing # L44649 and will fit your spindles if the existing hubs also use these same bearings.
