There are a number of parts that you are going to need in order to flat-tow your 2017 Chevy Equinox, starting with a base plate. The Blue Ox, # BX1689, is a confirmed fit for your vehicle, and offers simple installation, using only bolts. For a tow bar, I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha, # BX7380, which slide into your RV's trailer hitch receiver so you don't have to use a ball mount, and the swivel function makes it easy to to connect your tow bar and vehicle. I have included links to video installs of these products for you to take a look at.

Wiring will be the next necessary component to flat-tow your Chevy. I recommend going with the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 4-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit, # RM-15247, which will allow the brake lights, tail lights and turn signals on your Equinox to light up as if you were driving it. For simplicity, I also recommend the Roadmaster Fuse Bypass, # RM76511. Towing your Chevy will require you to remove a fuse, and installing this will negate the need for you to do that every time. I have included a link to a video install on an Equinox which displays how it works.

The next thing you will need is a supplemental braking system. The SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System, # SM99251, will need to be installed, but after that you will never have to mess with it again. Your Equinox will also require the use of a stop light switch kit, specifically, # RM-751439.

The final thing that you will likely need is a high-low adapter to ensure your tow bar is level. I have added links to help articles on high-low adapters as well as one on the basics of flat towing which you may find useful.
