How to Install the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Hitch in a 2017 Ford F-350 w/ Factory Prep Package
Question:
I have a 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty with factory-installed towing prep package. I am looking at the Curt Q-20 or similiar but as a newbie with 5th wheel towing, Im not sure exactly what is meant by factory-installed towing prep package. Is there anything I need to do except buy the 5th wheel and set it on the bed with latches provided? Is there more that I need to buy and install? The local trailer place wants me to pay $100 to install, but looking at the video, it looks like Ford provided everything and that I can just remove the protective plastic caps and install. Help! Before I pay a $100 for something I dont need to do. Is the Q20 more than I need?

Since your 2017 Ford F-350 has the 8ft bed and factory prep package, installation of the Curt Q20 5th Wheel, # C16530-16017, can be done by the consumer.
The Ford OEM compatible legs on the Q20 hitch uses four lever handles that allow the pucks to fit lock into your Ford's towing package. The levers a moved out away from the hitch and then you set the hitch in the puck holes in the of your truck's bed. Once installed, you push the levers toward the hitch to lock the hitch in position.
Installation is very straight forward and with help from a few friends you will be able to install this hitch with no out-of-pocket cost.
