Will Trailer Hitch Receiver Interfere with Hands Free Lift Gate Feature on a 2017 Honda CR-V
Question:
I have a new Honda CRV Touring suv with the hands free lift gate option. I am considering a trailer hitch, but I have been told that a trailer hitch will interfere with the function of the hands free lift gate. Will your trailer hitches interfere with the hands free lift gate function?

We have tested this ourselves and heard back from customers that when they install a trailer hitch receiver, like the Draw-Tite # 76128, on a 2017 Honda CR-V they've had no problem operating the hands free lift gate.
If you're going to be towing a trailer the wiring harness to power the trailer's lights I recommend is the Tekonsha # 118741. This installs pretty easier by plugging in to a connector in the rear cargo area behind a trim panel on the driver's side. There's also a fuse to insert in the fuse compartment beneath the dash on the driver's side.
You'll also need a ball mount and hitch ball. I've attached link of our selection of ball mounts for a 2 inch hitch receiver as well as an article to help you determine the correct rise or drop you may need. Once you choose a ball mount you can then choose a hitch ball to fit it.
One way to make choosing a ball mount easier is to go with an adjustable ball mount like the B&W Tow & Stow # BWTS10038B. It features the ability to be flipped under the hitch when not using it and will provide up to 5-1/2 inches of rise or 5 inches of drop.
For a pin and clip to fit you can use # PC3 or if you'd like to have a locking pin you can use # BX8858.
I've also included links to some articles on towing that you might find helpful.
