Which Bearings are Needed for a 2000 Jayco Qwest?

Question:

I am wanting to replace the hubs and bearings on a pop-up trailer I recently purchased. I pulled the old bearings out on one side; though there are no discernible markings on the inner, the outer has a part number, but I can't clearly read the last part of it. It is either L44649 or L44643, so I've narrowed it down at least. Do you have a way of looking up which bearing I need based on the model info? Trailer is a 2000 Jayco Qwest 8W. The plate on the axle tube says it's a Dexter Axle P-11, model SLR.

Based on the outer bearing numbers you gave, there are a couple of possibilities as far as replacements, so you did narrow it down quite a bit, but not enough to be able to tell you exactly what you need.

There is a way to find out, and it requires only the use of a caliper to measure the diameter of the spindle which the bearings ride. If it measures to be 0.99 inches, then you will need # L44643, and if it measures 1.06 inches, you will need # L44649. It is likely the latter because those are more common on camping-style trailers, though measuring is best way to ensure you get the correct parts.

Similarly, if you can provide the dimensions of the spindle, I can recommend the correct trailer hubs for you.
