Powered A-Frame Jack Recommendation for Replacing Broken Shelby Square Jack

Question:

My 2003 20foot Carson funrunner 5000# has a replacement hand crank jack that just stripped its gears. It has the opening and 3 threaded holes for an electric jack. What is my best option? I take it out on the sand so it gets beaten by the elements. Its uncovered at home too. Thanks

If you remove the broken Shelby jack you have currently you can replace it with a powered A-frame jack that will bolt up to the 3 bolt mounting plate you have on your trailer.

I think the best value for an A-frame tongue jack is the Stromberg Carlson # SC63VR which is rated for 4500 pounds of tongue weight. This is 1000 pounds more than other models, and even though you may not need this much capacity, you will find that the jack motor runs quick and effortlessly. This will add years to its life. This jack also has a unique clutch that prevents damage from overextending or retracting the jack foot - the most common reason for jack failure. I also like that is has a generous 23" lift, including a time-saving drop-foot. It includes LED lights for operating the hitch in the dark, and a built-in bullseye leveling bubble.

You might also consider the Ultra-Fab # UF38-944026 vinyl jack cover to keep the elements out when not in use.
