Recommended Parts Needed To Install 5-Pole Round Harness On 2017 Honda CR-V
Question:
My CURT receiver has arrived and Im now researching wiring harness for my 2017 CRV. My boat trailer has electric breaks and a five pole, round terminal. I understand the fifth pole carries a reverse signal, that releases the breaks when I back up. I only see four pole harness listed for the CRV. Advice?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since you have a 5-pole round connector on your trailer, the easiest way to get a 5-pole on yoiur 2017 CR-V is to first install a 4-way trailer harness like part # Item # 118741. We do not have a custom 5-pole wiring harness for your vehicle.
You will then need to cut the 4-way connector off the harness and install a 5-pole connector like part # PK11502. You will also need to use a single wire, # 10-1-1 to run the reverse circuit.
I also recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 so you can identify the reverse light circuit behind your taillight on your CR-V.
